Barcelona defender Jules Kounde is unlikely to join Man Utd this summer, according to reports.
TEAM Talk claimed that the Red Devils were “contacted” by an intermediary who had informed the team of the Frenchman’s availability.
Kounde was a regular starter for Barca last season, but the La Liga champions are hoping to raise money so they can use the funds to recruit new players.
The Catalan club are said to be demanding “more than” €50m (£43m) for the 27-year-old, but United are not interested.
Michael Carrick’s side are prioritizing strengthening in midfield, but if they do strengthen their defence, they are expected to sign a left-back.
Kounde can still play in the Premier League
With Barcelona touting the player across Europe, it would not be surprising if the French international joined one of United’s rivals.
Chelsea have historic interest in Kounde, having tried to sign him several times before his move to Camp Nou in 2022.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are looking for a player like Kounde, who can do the job at both right-back and centre-back.

Man Utd is looking for a left back.
Carrick has limited options on the left side of defence. Tyrell Malacia has now left Old Trafford after his contract expired, so Luke Shaw doesn’t have much competition for a starting place.
Noussair Mazraoui is someone who can provide cover if needed, but he is more comfortable on the right. That’s why Director of Football Jason Wilcox and Head of Recruiting Christopher Vivell have put together a list of targets.
Newcastle’s Lewis Hall is seen as the main option, but there are serious doubts whether the Magpies will let him leave, especially after releasing other key players such as Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali.
Nathaniel Brown was also under consideration, but he has already joined Bayern Munich. Kounde’s teammate, Alejandro Balde, is believed to be involved interested in Unitedbut Barca will only sell him if they can bring in a replacement.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
