Man Utd Considering Surprise For £35M Bundesliga Star Who Is “High” On Club’s Shortlist Of 5 Midfielders

Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller is Man Utd’s top target ahead of the summer transfer window, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

Keep talking Founding of the Union YouTube channel Jacobs says the German international features “highly” on the club’s list of five midfielders:

“About two months ago, they were discussing 8-12 names, but now the shortlist focuses on Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton, and maybe Angelo Stiller and Sandro Tonali.”

“Their ideal plan in the summer is to bring in two players from that group as a midfield pairing. Other options could still arise, but if they lose sight of this priority, they will have to turn to other alternatives. Angelo Stiller is an important figure in Man United’s thinking and is appreciated by Christopher Vivell and Jason Wilcox.”

Stiller would be the cheapest option for Man Utd

Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton and Sandro Tonali are expected to command fees of between £80m and £100m, with Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United all reluctant to sell.

Brighton may lower their demands for Baleba, as the Cameroon international has not been in great form this season, but his price would still be higher than Stiller, who could only be priced at around €40m (£35m) if his release clause is still active. Even if Stuttgart were to write him off, his valuation would probably only rise by £10m to £15m.

How is Stiller doing this season?

This 24 year old player continues to be a creative outlet for Stuttgart. He recorded 9 assists in all competitions, just two assists less than he managed in the 2024/25 season.

Stiller is a defensive midfielder who dictates play with his incisive passing from deeper positions, so he would be a very different type of player to Casemiro, who get ready to go when his contract expires at the end of June.
