Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has praised Mason Mount ahead of his first game in charge against Ipswich Town.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Amorim said he was excited to work with the England international, who he believes is a perfect fit for his 3-4-3 system:
“Mason Mount… I have to tell you that I love that kid. You can see in his eyes that he really wants this. And this is the most important thing for me, I know he suffered an injury, he was not on the pitch, but now he is trying to stay fit and we hope he can stay fit, to show all the talent he showed, for example at Chelsea. He plays in this system [before]so it was perfect for him. I have two positions for Mason Mount, so he should be very happy!”
X fans hope this is a new start for Mount after a nightmare eighteen months since his arrival at Old Trafford:
That’s what I want to hear! Dedication is the key. 👍

There’s no doubt, he’s hungry and his work ethic can’t be denied but the problem is his injuries 🤕

Can Mount stay fit?
If the 25-year-old remains available for selection, there is a good chance he will thrive under a new manager. However, as Amorim mentioned, his fitness record since his £55m move from Chelsea last year has been poor.
Mount has missed 37 games through injury since August 2023, but he will be in the matchday squad for Ipswich match this afternoon.
Amorim can help many United players rediscover their best form
Mount is not the only member of the first team squad who has experienced difficulties in recent times. Players like Marcus Rashford, Joshua Zirkzee and even Rasmus Hojlund can take a shot at the arm.
It will be interesting to see if the new manager can get the best out of them.
