The Nation Cup -African nation 2025 will be held in Morocco between December 21, 2025 and January 18, 2026.
This will be the 35th edition of the African Main National Team Tournament, organized by CAF (African Football Confederation), with 24 teams participating in the final.

Moroccan host is a decent favorite considering they reach the 2022 World Cup semifinals and win all their six qualifying matches for this tournament, scoring 26 goals in the process. About a third of all AFCON tournaments have previously been won by the host country.
Egypt has the best record in this competition with seven previous wins. Mohamed Salah will hope to direct his people to victory after losing the decisive match in the last Afcon due to injury.
Ivory Coast is the defending champion, after defeating Nigeria 2-1 in the 2023 final, while Algeria, the winner of 2019, will also like their opportunities.
Senegal defeated Egypt after a penalty shootout in the 2021 final and had one of the strongest players to be chosen in this year’s tournament.
Among the more expensive teams, Komoro and Botswana only made their second appearance in the African Cup final.
The initial group share in the Afcon final will feature six groups, with each of four teams. The team that finished in the top two places in each group will qualify for round 16, along with four third teams in third place, based on their records in the group stage.
